Castles

Castles

Tour description

Did you know that Naples boasts the world record for the largest number of castles in a city perimeter? Well, so it is! It is the only city with 7 castles within its inhabited center, all strategically built to defend its important gulf. The castles of Naples, with their passionate stories of love, intrigues and court crimes, are the romantic and mysterious face of a city that, for its pulsating life, has attracted royalty, poets and artists from around the world.

The Castle tour, on board our sidecars, will be a physical and imaginary journey through the history of the most important castles in the city; the ancient and well-known Castel dell'Ovo (the egg castle) whose legend binds it to the poet Virgil, the imposing and refined Maschio Angioino with the crocodile's ditch, the majestic Sant'Elmo Castel with the Belvedere over the entire city and up along the sunny streets all the way to the promontory of Baia where the famous Aragonese Castle rises above the sea.

Coffee and sfogliatella  (puff pastry filled with ricotta cheese and candied fruit) will give a sweet touch to this exciting journey through the mysterious past of Naples.
